Union Square hosts some of the best and trendiest shops, restaurants, nightspots, and hotels in New York City. Residents of Union Square are young and vibrant. Union Square consists mostly of renovated apartment buildings some more luxurious than others. Rents are more reasonable as you move nearer the East Village. The Union Square Subway Station is one of the best on the Eastside. However, like most Eastside areas, Subways become less accessible the further East you go. Buses are regular and convenient and make a suitable substitute. Walking to Midtown and commuting to Brooklyn is also manageable from here.
